Our workshop

Planetary health has emerged as an increasing matter of concern worldwide. Since our inception in 1969 our core values have been sustainability and social responsibility. For 50 years, our work culture has been based on traditional, age old, ecologically friendly methods. Our workshop is designed with organic materials, open spaces and natural light to create an environment that inspires artists and designers.

We have used indigenous materials and traditional techniques of construction. Mud bricks are made from the mud excavated during construction. The walls are white washed with lime and cow dung (gobar). Atriums in the building create a well lit and airy working space. We have a green garden and lots of plants in our work space to alleviate pollution and stay closer to nature. All the plants are watered with the recycled treated water from our effluent treatment plant.

We use ecologically sustainable production techniques like rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharging and we also treat all effluents produced by our production processes. We utilize a natural gas boiler for heating our printing tables and use natural sun light to dry all our fabrics.
