MUMBAI: BANDRA

MUMBAI: BANDRA

Tradition has it that the suburb Bandra was originally know as Vandra, Bandera or Ape as it was the home of monkeys. The English finally gave it this name it with the famous Bandra station. The multi cultural community and destination of Bandra is a sociological adventure. Pali Hill is still forested with laburnums and jacarandas and you may still catch a flash of a kingfisher through the rain trees. Rarer to spot are the film royalty who hide on the hill. The buildings and bungalows are set within the “valleys” and “crests” of the hills. At one time, the sea was plainly visible from the foothills.

Our home on Pali Hill is an old Bandra cottage, an experience of the classic Bandra vibe. Small village house rooms built into a pali village community where we know our neighbors. Take a stroll around after you visit us to just take it all in or dop in to our nieighbors the Bagel shop famous for harboring a community of young, creative minds looking for a space that mirrors their convictions and a novel delectable menu.
